So now I’m officially a writer. I’ve received my first rejection from an agent.
Thanks for your query, but I’m sorry to say I’m not the right agent for your book. I wish you the best of luck in your search for representation.

Dang man, I’m sorry, but hey, the first one’s the toughest hopefully. Only easier from here! Some of the best movies and books of our time got rejected plenty of times and now they’re classics, so just keep trying!
Just know it is all part of the process. One of the foremost painters in today’s world submitted his writing on “Everything I Know About Painting” to numerous art publishers, only to receive letters of rejection. He decided to independently publish instead and his book is now in its 8th edition and has sold in approximately 30 countries around the world.
Never give up.
Good for you! I’ve had one myself. You’re amongst a well spread writing condiment in the great doody sandwich we all have served up at one time or another. I look at rejection as a good thing; at least SOMEONE looked at it. ‘May not have gone beyond that, but there’s always a different diner down the road with better food/better taste. Bon appetite!
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I’m definitely not giving up. This is just the first of (probably) many. But it only takes one yes.
